Pre Season Basketball Skills Camp

Prepare for the upcoming Winter Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA season by participating in the preseason skills camp

Concordia University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Stan Bonewitz will lead the preseason basketball skills camp. Stan is entering his 15th season as head basketball coach at Concordia University. He has coached multiple players to earn all-conference honors and his team is always competing for the conference title. Coach Stan was a decorated collegiate basketball player at Texas Tech University.  He garnered All-Southwest Conference Freshmen Team honors in 1995-96 and earned honorable-mention All-Big 12 honors two years later. As a point guard, Bonewitz led the Red Raiders to a 30-2 ledger, SWC title and a NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance in 1995-96. He graduated as the all-time assist leader for Texas Tech with 435. He has coached at every level and his camp provides instruction on essential basketball skills that enable your athlete to not only compete, but succeed at the next level. With age appropriate learner centered instruction, the camp is a fundamental must for all aspiring basketball players.

Coach Stan ran a summer basketball camp that many Neighborhood Sports participants attended. We have received multiple compliments on how professional and instructive it was for the kids

1. Ball Handling- fundamental instruction on the different types of dribble and when to use each.
2. Shooting- technique, form, and footwork for stationary and shooting on the move off of screens.
3. Offense- Framework, concepts, and moves
4. Defense - Framework concepts, and positioning
5. Games- moving with the ball
6. Competition

The preseason basketball camp is a one day, Hour & half camp that will develop the basic basketball fundamentals that every player needs to succeed and have a more memorable / pleasurable playing experience. Players will rotate through stations working on the critical skills and then have some one on one competition between the campers.
